Chasing the rainbow is a devised theatre Performance presented by Different Degrees, an ensemble of actors with and without disabilities supported by Lane Cove Council and Sydney Community Services.
Inspired by Wicked and the work of Oz it considers how we reconcile cultural comforts with ecological changes in an accessible context. It proposes fun and adventurous ways of dealing with difference and change. Set in our very own land of AUS it follows the journey of a group of friends in their search for “home” or belonging, knowing anything we can do is best done together. Part spoof on the Wizard of Oz, and using Auslan inspired actions, this exploration of movement and sound reflects we all have a place on the spectrum of belonging. Community theatre, creative experimentation and heartwarming comedy in the land of AUS.
