Step into a world where sound, rhythm, and storytelling collide. ‘Unbound’ is a dance and music production that brings to life the many shades of the feminine spirit- fierce, faithful, fervent, and divine.Drawing from the wellspring of ancient yet timeless Indian classical arts, this production fuses the expressive storytelling and intricate footwork of Bharatanatyam dance with the complex and soul-stirring melodies of Carnatic music. The stage will come alive with a vibrant ensemble of Bharathanatyam dancers, a Carnatic vocalist, a Nattuvanar (conductor), a Mridangam percussionist, and a Flautist, creating a rich tapestry of movement and sound. These contemporary artists who honour tradition whilst reshaping it through their lens, will showcase and reinvigorate ancient tales of Indian mythology. Tales of grace and rage, devotion and defiance, and strength and vulnerability that transcend time.
